Robins Theatre

The Butler Theatre on South Main Street would later become the Robins Theatre. The Robins Theatre would close in the mid-1960s.

The Olde Main Ale & Chowder House was demolished in 1990 leaving Reismans and the Robins Theatre buildings still standing on the corner of South Main and West State Streets.

By the late 1960s the McKinley and Warner theatres in Niles were closed and razed during urban renewal(1976). The Robins Theater and Reismans buildings were demolished (2024).

Studied in the Niles Comprehensive plan, the existing buildings, slated for removal, will make way for a substantial public plaza and green space.

The Niles downtown launch proposed site leverages a well connected parcel to strengthen both physical connections and environmental awareness at the riverfront site just below South Main Street bridge into downtown.
